Circadian rhythms
The circadian rhythm is our body's natural 24-hour cycle, guiding physical, mental, and behavioral changes throughout the day. Controlled by a biological clock in the brain, it responds mainly to light and darkness, which play a major role in regulating our sleep patterns, hormone release, appetite, digestion, and body temperature.
When your circadian rhythm is off balance, you might notice signs like trouble falling asleep, staying awake in the evening, waking up in the morning, or focusing on daily tasks. Fortunately, you can adjust it with simple tools: Light, Exercise, and Food. Expose yourself to natural light during the day, engage in physical activity, and eat meals at regular times to reset your internal clock.
